I have an ecommerce site which ranked well for certain keywords.
I have updated the software which has resulted in internal url
changes. (Still optimised, but different)

This happened approx 1 month ago.

I now rank very poorly for my keywords.

Here is an example of the old and new URL's
NEW
http://www.example.com/catalog/big-g...ples-p-34.html

OLD
http://www.example.com/catalog/big-g...pack-p-55.html


What would be the recommeded method to get back my old SE ranking?

My old website has been moved to:
http://www.example.com/old/

My new website is:
http://www.example.com/catalog/

Are there changes I should make to my .htaccess file?

Redirect permanent /index.htm http://www.example.com/catalog/
Redirect permanent /old/ http://www.example.com/catalog/
