I have read some postings about this topic, and have not succeeded in
being able to write to a flashdrive under Knoppix 3.9.

I understand that devices are generally read-only, by default, under
Knoppix. I have unchecked the Read only box under Properties/Device
for the USB flashdrive. Just for good measure, I have also set
permissions to Read and Write for everyone. Yet, I cannot write to
this drive, or save changes to files that were already on the drive
(from my Windows XP OS). Is there an additional step that I am
skipping?

btw, I am able to write to a floppy.

I am very impressed with this unique distribution.
