Default How to get a bar cursor (instead of a block cursor) in anxterm/rxvt?

I've done quite a bit of googling/man-page-reading/irc-ing, but can't
find how to get a bar cursor in my terminals instead of a block
cursor. Would prefer a solution that works for rxvt, but would be
happy with anything that doesn't involve running (x)emacs 'shell'.

Thanks in advance,
Eric

Thanks for the response. When you get it implemented, please let me
know; i'll be happy to put it through its paces. I spend ~60% of my
time in terminals (mostly rxvt's) @ work.

Also, if you know of some other terminal that _does_ already implement
it, please let me know. I can't find anything.
