| Hi all, I am trying to setup Sun Grid Engine on a cluster of eight Fedora Core 4 computers for batch processing. I'm having trouble installing Sun Grid Engine 6 as a master host on the Fedora Core 4 server machine. I've went through the installation procedure as directed in Sun's documentation, which is seemingly very good, and I get this error when I try to run a command as shown below: -------------------------- [root@c0 ~]# /home/gridware/default/common/sgemaster start starting sge_qmaster starting sge_schedd error: commlib error: endpoint is not unique error (endpoint "c0/schedd/1" is already connected) error: getting configuration: unable to contact qmaster using port 539 on host "c0" error: can't get configuration from qmaster -- backgrounding --------------------------- I get the same error at the end of the installation procedure so I think the root of the problem is the same. Here are my questions. What does commlib error mean? What is an endpoint in this context? Port 539 is not being used anywhere else in the services file. What is backgrounding? Thank you for your prompt replys. Adam |
