Default do current Linux Kernels support SerialAttachedSCSI-harddisk/SAS by default ?

Hi,

do current Linux Kernels support SerialAttachedSCSI-harddisk/SAS by
default ?
(is this a "generic SAS dirver" or does every adapter from different
manafactureres
require a special SAS-driver?)

Any feedback is appreciated very much. Tahnk you!

John

Just like every other type of adapter, each requires its own
hardware-specific driver. There are a number of LSI and Adaptec SAS
controllers supported by drivers in the stock kernels. Perhaps other
makes, too.
