| I have two questions rolled in one. I am considering how I can test to determine whether or not a load operation succeeded. Data files arrive, and I do some initial processing to ensure the data is complete and valid, using a perl script, before loading the data into a suite of tables. How can I check to ensure that all of the data has been loaded? Is it possible to write stored procedures in languages like Perl or C++ or Java, and use them to compare the contents of the files with the data that has just been loaded? Am I overly paranoid thinking that whatever can fail will, and anything made by man can fail? Thanks. Ted |
